Families First Contacts is a NACCC accredited organisation and is a floating support service (whereby contact is not linked to a specific place or venue) that provides contact services in the community. Where contact takes place in the community is a decision between both parties. A risk assessment will be completed to ascertain safety and appropriateness. We cover all areas in London currently. All our workers have a wealth of experience within Social work and the Care Sectors.
All contact is booked following comprehensive risk assessment, which will follow from initial referral.

Supervised Contact
Supervised contact is a crucial arrangement that ensures a child maintains a relationship with a non-resident family member while prioritizing their safety and well-being. In this context, a trained and responsible adult oversees interactions, creating a secure environment where the child can engage with the other family member. This arrangement can be beneficial in various situations, allowing for the continuation of family bonds under conditions that protect the child from potential risks. It is essential that all parties involved understand the purpose of supervised contact, which is to foster healthy relationships while safeguarding the child's emotional and physical welfare.
We also offer virtual contact, for various situations where in person contact cannot take place.
Supported Contact and Handover Services
Supported contact involves a low level of supervision for a child while they engage with a non-resident family member, ensuring that the child’s safety and well-being remain a top priority. In this arrangement, trained and safe adults facilitate the interaction, providing necessary support without being intrusive. This approach allows for meaningful bonding opportunities while still maintaining a structured environment that reassures all parties involved. By fostering a positive and supervised setting, supported contact promotes healthy relationships and emotional development for the child.
Court Reports and Supervision Reports
Professional court reports are integral to the family court process, serving as essential documentation that informs judicial decisions. Our experienced social workers and qualified practitioners are thoroughly well versed in both assessment techniques and comprehensive report writing. They strive to ensure that each report is detailed, accurate, and reflective of the complexities surrounding family dynamics.
Mediation
Parent mediation is a constructive process designed to facilitate communication and resolve conflicts between parents, particularly in cases involving divorce or separation. This approach enables both parties to express their concerns and priorities in a safe environment, with the guidance of a qualified mediator. By focusing on collaborative problem-solving, parent mediation aims to reach mutually acceptable agreements regarding child custody, visitation rights, and support arrangements. This process not only prioritises the well-being of the children involved but also fosters healthier relationships between parents, ultimately contributing to a more stable family dynamic post-separation.
